The Grabber APT is General's On-/Off-Road All-Terrain tire initially developed for Original Equipment use on the Nissan Titan, with additional sizes for the drivers of pickup trucks, Jeeps, crossovers and sport utility vehicles looking for a balanced blend of off-road capability and on-road civility. Designed to provide confident traction in all weather conditions, most sizes of the Grabber APT meet the tire industry's severe snow service standards and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Utilizing a robust, cut- and chip-resistant tread compound molded into a symmetric pattern, the Grabber APT's ComfortBalance; Technology places an absorption layer under the tread to isolate the driver from imperfections in the road. Counter-angled shoulder grooves help to dissipate sound generated in the center of the tread for a quiet ride, and the flat tread profile and optimized pattern stiffness help evenly distribute pressure across the face of the tread to combat rapid and irregular wear. Full-depth sipes in the tread blocks create biting edges for grip on slippery surfaces and the staggered circumferential grooves, traction notches and alternating shoulder scoops aid traction on loose surfaces such as dirt or snow.

Internal construction of the Grabber APT features General's DURAGEN construction to aid durability and provide a wide, flat footprint for even wear, braking performance and handling response. The two wide, ultra-high strength steel belts deliver resistance to punctures, in addition to supporting the tread for confident stability under heavy loads.

NOTE: While most of the Grabber APT On-/Off-Road All-Terrain tires meet industry severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol, some do not. Specific tires/sizes not meeting the industry's requirements are identified with a `Not Rated For Severe Snow` notation on the `Sizes` and `Specs` tabs.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

Treadwear Performance

N/A
N/A

Treadwear is vital to many things, not just how often the tires need replacement. Hydroplaning and wet weather are both critical factors that wear down your tire quickly. The warranty covers any defects in what you bought but only for a limited period or when there's minimal tread left on them.

Wet Perfomance

N/A
8.7

The wet performance score is a new thing that tire manufacturers are trying to achieve. The hydroplaning resistance, wet traction, and steering response all influence this new grading system.

Hydroplaning Resistance
i

The hydroplaning resistance is measured by the hydroplane depth test and the dynamic aquaplaning test, which measures how much water can be accumulated on the tire's surface before hydroplaning occurs.

8.7
Wet Traction
i

Wet traction estimates the level of grip on wet pavement. Tread design with deep grooves dramatically improves confidence when driving in the rain as they channel the water out much better.

8.6
Steering Response
i

The vehicle's steering response largely depends on the tread depth, tire width, air pressure, and aspect ratio. Wide high-performance tires are equipped with a continuous center rib providing instant steering response.

8.9

Dry Perfomance

N/A
8.8

Tires with good dry performance should be able to perform smoothly and safely, even when cornering aggressively.

Cornering Stability
i

A dynamic cornering test is often used to assess cornering stability under dry conditions.

8.7
Dry Traction
i

Dry traction level depends on many factors, including tread design, profile shape, and compounds.

8.7
Steering Response
i

The vehicle's steering response largely depends on the tread depth, tire width, air pressure, and aspect ratio. Wide high-performance tires are equipped with a continuous center rib providing instant steering response.

8.9

Comfort Perfomance

N/A
8.9

The comfort performance score is designed to measure the balance between ride quality and noise level.

Ride Quality
i

The excellent ride quality means you do not feel the bumps or cracks on the road. Larger tires with thick and deep tread patterns decrease the number of jolts allowing you to glide over bumpy road textures.

8.9
Noise
i

If you would enjoy a quiet chat with the passengers while children are sleeping or listening to music, not the sound of tires, definitely pay attention to the noise score.

8.9

Winter Performance

N/A
7.5

Winter Performance score helps us understand if the tire is the appropriate option for winter conditions that your vehicle will face. Dedicated winter tires provide a firm grip when driving through snow and on ice. Performance winter tires boast a higher speed rating and better handling but deliver modestly lower ice and snow traction.

Light Snow Traction
i

Snow traction is the ability of a tire to push snow out of its path. When driving on packed snow, tires with good snow traction will help you accelerate and maintain control.

8.3
Deep Snow Traction
i

Deep Snow Traction test results compare how the tires deal with the deep snow. To successfully cope with the job, such tires should feature aggressive tread patterns, a tremendous amount of siping, and most elastic compounds.

7.2
Ice Traction
i

Ice traction tires feature ice grip and build friction when using the brakes or steering wheel to get through icy surfaces safely.

Size
i

Tire size may be indicated in two formats:
– metric (P255/45R18 103H)
– high flotation (30x9.5 R15 104 F C)
In the metric system, P - stands for the passenger vehicles (LT - for Light Trucks, ST - Special Trailer) with a width of 255 millimeters, aspect ratio (sidewall height) equal to 45% of the tire height. R means it is radially constructed with a diameter of 18 inches. 103 denotes the tire's load index and H determines the speed rating.
In the high flotation system, the first number (30) is the overall diameter of the tire, the second number (9.5) is the width in inches.

Uniform Tire Quality Grade Standards (UTQG) were designed to offer consumers with useful information about the treadwear, traction, and temperature capabilities of their tires in order to make better decisions when purchasing new tires.

Max. load
i

The maximum weight that a tire can carry is the greatest amount of weight it's designed to bear. Because load carrying capability is dependent on a tire's size and construction, as well as how much air pressure is actually utilized, maximum loads are measured with the tire inflated to an industry standard inflation pressure.

100 (1800 lbs)
Max. speed
i

The maximum speed that a tire with this type of tread can safely travel for an extended amount of time is indicated by the tire speed rating, which is usually shown by a letter or two.

W
Max inflation pressure
i

The highest "cold" inflation pressure that a tire is meant to contain is its maximum inflation pressure.

44 | 29
Tire weight
i

The tire weight is determined by the type and size of the tire. As the tread depth of the tire wears down over time, so does its weight.

29
Rim width range
i

Tires may be used on rims of varying widths while still fulfilling their intended function.

5.5-7""
Meas. rim width
i

The measuring rim width is the common industry minimum rim width at which a tire must be mounted to validate that it meets design specifications.

14/32""
Overall diam.
i

The overall diameter of a tire is the outer diameter of the tire, measured in the center of the tread. This measurement is made without any load placed on the tire and after it has been properly mounted on its industry-assigned measuring rim and inflated to its test pressure after 24 hours.

27.85
Revs.per mile

The revolutions per mile figure indicates the number of times a tire rotates during one mile's travel.
